The Order of the Illithid
Otherwise known as IO, the Order is a secret cult hidden deep within the confines of the Shadow Legion. Its members vary in race, sect, ability, and alignment, but all seek to revive the Elder God Cthulhu into the plane of Atheria.
Current Events
Since our arrival on this plane our efforts to revive Cthulhu have not gone unrewarded. A reflection of his avatar now resides in our guild hall. Although it remains yet a ghost, as his grasp on this realm is not strong enough to manifest fully. As the days and months go by, more and more beings are joining our ranks and binding themselves to The Cause. We have also noted a increase in the hostility and chaos in this realm, another sign of our Lords growing power. Harken to these signs for they will show us the true way to our goal.
Recent reports of Illithid weapons being found. This is another sign of our growing power and influence. Indeed, the aptly named Blade of Sorrow is of ancient Illithid design. We should seek out any of these "Children of Cthulhu" on this realm as they will assuredly help us in our quest. Several members of the Order have noted rifts that offer travel to other planes from Atheria. These planes must be searched thoroughly, perhaps on one of them more answers can be found to aid in Lord Cthulhus' return.
The Order of the Illithid has recently began to grow in strength anew, with the advent of a powerful sect of members. Who knows what the future might bring for this guild.
History
The Illithid Order was formed eons ago when all the worlds were new and the Illithid even then a race of old. The Illithid or Children of Cthulhu as they were called served Cthulhu as his first chosen. They carried out his orders and will until the loss of their lord in the year 1902 N.S. Some time after his destruction a prophecy was fortold of his return. He could only do so if his faithful found a certain artifact that could open a portal to the past and thus save their lord from his demise. World after world was searched but no such power could be found. The search continues on many realms, and as fate would have it has now come to Atheria.
Here on Atheria there are portals to other dimensions and planes of existance, and it is here that the Illithid Order has found new vigor and hope in their search. Of all the factions on Atheria, the Mystral Ascendancy had the most promise and most in common with the Order. It is here that the Illithid Order has set up their latest outpost to continue the search for the power that will return their lord Cthulhu to his rightful place.
The Illithid Order is set up structurally, with three branches; the Scholars, the Initates, and the Reformers. Scholars are the knowledge seeking magi of the IO, Initates are responsible for the psychic core of the Order (bards, sorcerers, and priests of the IO), and the Reformers are the warriors and rogues of the IO. Although they each have different ways their aims are unified unto one end alone.... the return of Lord Cthulhu.
Rules & Guidelines
- 1). At no point or time shall a member complain or whine on the shout channel about anything. This is seen as weakness and of course the mighty Order is anything but weak.
- 2). PvP is at the players' discretion, unless said player is currently within a treaty with the guild or party group. Also as we are all seeking to have fun playing, not all people like or want PvP action so if you decide to engage in PvP be sure to tell the target that this is all in good fun and no malice or spite is intended. I personally only like to pk a person once and will let them go about their business after that unless they initiate further confrontation, this is my own style and my not be yours so I leave that up to you.
- 3). Concerning with the above all players from Daeron shall be killed on sight! Including members of the {CLAD} and FoN Guilds. If this is not possible be sure to taunt them viciously. Also here make sure the said victim knows this is in the spirit of RP and not a personal matter. As I see it if any one faction is the natural enemy of Daeron it is MA, we are their antithesis and therefore only natural that they are our enemy.
- 4). Unlike our brethren the Cult of Cthulhu we are a more logical group relying on our intellect and wit rather than chaos to resurrect our lord Cthulhu. While the Cult shares our goal be wary as they are not to be fully trusted. Their chaotic ways may find their focus on the Illithid Order if chance and circumstance arise.
- 5). Feel free to taunt the lesser beings that inhabit this realm, though stay within the rules of the server. We do not condone and personal attacks, swearing etc. Please be weary of this.
- 6). Relics - As we have now transferred to a faction, relics are of course part of the strength within our home city. If you are feeling bored feel free to do as you please with them and orders for raids will be sent via tells by IO members. A MIC system may be setup sometime in the future if this is applicable.
- 7). Collect rare and unusual artifacts for one may be the key we have been searching for to bring our lord Cthulhu back into the realms of the living. All artifacts and unusual items are to be cataloged and studied to determine its properties and effects.
- 8). Traitors to Menzoduran are to be reported and killed if possible as we have taken it upon ourselves to be the Internal Affairs of the Shadow Legion. Note all activity of said traitors and report on suspicious activity or alliances they may form or have. Traitors, much like the vermin outside the gates, are not to be tolerated nor shown any quarter.
